Corrosion is always a problem with all exposed metal, but we took the treatment of corrosion to the 'enth degree, even corrosion proofing the interior of the tubular frame with POR 15.
The corrosion treatment extends to the exhaust header and rear brake drums, permanently rustproofed by the use of a baked on finish - - - Silver Ceramic 'JET HOT coating, and NEW stainless exhaust system.
The car will be delivered with a new Interstate Battery.
Tires = Slightly oversize AVON 185 R 15 The entire wiring harness is also new, as is the windshield, now with zero road miles on that unit since replacement.
The Windshield Washer bottle has never had fluid in it an NOS unit not the badly discolored units we have all seen in older cars.
The Brake Booster Unit was the last component replaced last year- - - ZERO miles on that component, in our continuing re-fit program.
All body panel corrosion was removed in 1981 with removal of all small areas of corrosion removed and replaced with new metal welded into the original panels.
This car is a One Owner Healey, given to my wife by the Original Healey Dealer in Connecticut in 1980.
now running on an A Title Historic PA Plate The entire interior and exterior surfaces of the body were stripped to bare metal primed and re-painted, along with the entire engine bay in body color, and frame in gloss black.
The NEW wire wheels carry polished stainless steel spokes and fittings - - - ZERO corrosion.
The entire interior was replaced with black leather /red piping and new carpets, as well as replacement of the canvas top not the strange vinyl material used in the 60's.
This 3000 IS in as close to NEW condition as possible.
- - -- We did a sympathetic total restoration to preserve this car for the foreseeable future not a Concourse Show Project, BUT BETTER.
